Reporting and Enforcement Policy

Version 1.0 · Effective August 6, 2026 · Last updated August 6, 2026

Overview

This document is a working draft prepared for the Brillo platform. It is placeholder content pending review and finalization by a licensed attorney before it is relied upon as a binding legal document. Bracketed items such as [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] must be completed before this document is treated as final.

This policy describes how reports are handled on Brillo and what enforcement actions may follow.

How to report

Reporting options are available on user profiles, listings, giveaways, purchase inquiries, conversations, and pickup details. Every report is reviewed by Brillo staff.

Not an emergency service

Brillo Support is not an emergency service. Contact local emergency services if you or another person may be in immediate danger.

Investigation process

A report may open a formal safety case, tracked through statuses from initial review through closure. Investigators may request additional information, and cases involving a legal hold are preserved regardless of normal retention timelines. Internal investigation notes are never shown to regular users.

Possible outcomes

Depending on findings, Brillo staff may issue a warning, restrict a specific feature (such as messaging, pickups, or giveaway hosting), temporarily suspend an account, or permanently terminate it. A reason is recorded for every action taken, and related records are preserved rather than deleted when an account is terminated.
