In-Person Pickup Safety Policy
Version 1.0 · Effective August 6, 2026 · Last updated August 6, 2026
Overview
This document is a working draft prepared for the Brillo platform. It is placeholder content pending review and finalization by a licensed attorney before it is relied upon as a binding legal document. Bracketed items such as [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] must be completed before this document is treated as final.
Before any in-person pickup, sale, trade, or giveaway collection can be confirmed on Brillo, every participant must acknowledge this policy.
Brillo does not supervise your meeting
Brillo does not supervise this meeting, verify the other person, inspect the card, process payment between users, provide transportation, or guarantee anyone's identity, conduct, or safety. A safety acknowledgment shown on Brillo does not mean the other user has been verified or approved by Brillo.
Safety rules
- Meet only in a populated, well-lit public location.
- Do not meet at a private home, hotel room, isolated location, or inside another person's vehicle.
- Do not share unnecessary personal information.
- Tell a trusted person where you are going.
- Leave immediately if anything feels unsafe.
- Contact emergency services if there is immediate danger.
Location information
Brillo never requests or displays live GPS tracking. For a pickup, only a general venue name, city, state, approximate meeting area, and date/time are stored -- never an exact address, live coordinates, a minor's personal phone number, or a guardian's private contact information.
Minors attending a pickup
A minor may never attend a pickup alone. For any pickup involving a user under 18, a parent or legal guardian must approve that specific meeting, control the arrangements, and personally attend and remain present for its entirety, at a populated public location. A minor's own confirmation never substitutes for guardian approval.
