Giveaway Rules

Version 1.0 · Effective August 6, 2026 · Last updated August 6, 2026

Overview

This document is a working draft prepared for the Brillo platform. It is placeholder content pending review and finalization by a licensed attorney before it is relied upon as a binding legal document. Bracketed items such as [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] must be completed before this document is treated as final.

These rules apply to every giveaway hosted on Brillo.

Brillo's role

Brillo is not the sponsor, owner, judge, custodian, inspector, or guarantor of a user-hosted giveaway unless Brillo explicitly states otherwise on the giveaway listing itself.

Host requirements

A host must provide an accurate title, prize description, eligibility requirements, start and end date, selection method, and shipping-or-pickup method (including who pays shipping), and must acknowledge the pickup safety requirements described in our In-Person Pickup Safety Policy if local pickup is offered.

Host confirmations

By publishing a giveaway, a host confirms: they possess the prize; their description is accurate; they will follow the posted rules; they will not require a minor to attend a pickup alone; they will not use the giveaway to collect unnecessary personal information; and they will comply with applicable law.

What a giveaway can never require

A giveaway may never require a participant to meet privately, enter a home or vehicle, conceal participation from a guardian, share a school address, share live GPS location, or send money to receive a supposedly free prize (beyond a clearly disclosed, platform-permitted shipping arrangement).
